In fact, peppercorns grow in Japan too.
This is Kusakiken's highly recommended product, and it is the only one of its kind in Japan.
This pepper that grows in Okinawa is different from regular pepper in that it is long and thin.
Freshly picked, raw, bright red long peppercorns are salted while still fresh.
The taste is nice and spicy.
It has nuances of pepper, chili pepper and citrus fruits.
My favorite way to eat it is to simply wrap a whole peppercorn in pork belly and grill it.
This is incredibly delicious. Infinite beer.
You can also stir-fry it with chopped garlic and oil to make pasta.
Grate it and mix it with ponzu sauce to use as a dipping sauce for hot pot .
The complex and juicy flavor is due to it being raw.
